Everything Will Dissapear, and That Is Good News

Tonight, somewhere, a wedding band is playing too loud, and the groom thinks this happiness will last forever. Somewhere else, a grandmother folds a saree she will wear no more. One life beginning. One life closing. Both walking toward the same quiet door, and neither of them looking at it.
I spent years at sea. You stand on the deck at three in the morning, the whole ocean breathing around you, and you learn something simple. The wave that scares you tonight has forgotten you by sunrise. It rises, it hits the ship with all its weight, and then it is gone. Back into the same dark water it came from. The sea holds no grudges. It holds no trophies either.
For a long time this scared me. If the wave forgets, if the ocean forgets, then one day I will be forgotten too. My name. My worries. The file that stole my sleep. The fight I won, the fight I lost. All of it heading toward the same empty space. So what is the point of any of it?
Then one grey morning, off some coast I can no longer name, the fear turned soft. I saw it clearly. If everything leaves, then the heavy things leave too. The shame goes. The old grudge you have carried on your back for years loosens and slips away. The universe is slowly wiping the whole page clean, and one day it will be blank again.
We hear "this too shall pass" as a kind thing you say to a friend who is crying. I have started to hear it as freedom. The bad night will pass. The applause will pass just the same. The house you are still paying for will one day belong to strangers who paint over your favourite wall. Sit with that for a while, and something in your chest lets go. Your grip loosens. And for the first time, the days start to feel like yours.
Here is where people take a wrong turn. They hear "everything disappears" and think it means "so do whatever you want." They pour their years into the bottle and the endless phone, and they hand out small cruelties as if that were strength. And yes, the end reaches them too. It just reaches them faster, and it brings friends. Poison speeds up the clock. A life fed on anger rots while it is still being lived. The man who drinks to forget wakes up each morning with more to forget. Vice always keeps its word. It ends everything, and it ends the good parts first.
So if it all disappears anyway, why choose kindness? Why walk the harder road?
The answer is quiet. You choose it because you can. For a short, borrowed while, you have the power to make someone's day a little brighter. A kind word to a nervous young colleague. An hour with your child, phone in the other room, just watching their face while it is still small. None of this will last a hundred years. Your kindness will be forgotten, same as your name. And still it matters. A lamp matters in a dark room, even though morning is coming anyway.
This is what the sea taught me late. The wave lasts only a moment. But while it lasts, it lifts the whole ship. It carries that heavy steel toward home, does its work without complaint, and then it lets go. You could build a good life just by copying the wave.
One more thing has been sitting on my mind. We call ourselves an evolved species, and we say it with pride. But evolution asks each generation only one question. Did you leave the ones behind you a little better able to live? A warmer hand. A wiser heart. When a man spends his short turn here making the people around him meaner and more afraid, he is walking backward. He is spending a hundred thousand years of gifts on his own bitterness. The only honest way to earn the word "human" is to hand the next person a kinder world than the one handed to you.
Everything will go. My books will go. This page will go. The people I loved and the people who tired me out will meet in the same silence. And when I hold all of this with open eyes, I feel something close to joy. The thing that once looked like a threat now looks like permission. Permission to forgive, since the grudge dies anyway. Permission to love out loud, since the clock is honest and short.
So here it is, from a sailor who became a banker and never fully stopped being a boy staring at the water. You are temporary. Wonderful. Then do your temporary things beautifully. Lift the ship while you are the wave.
This is why I built Mind Flow. Never a stage. Never a brand in the way people mean it. It is the room where I get to say all of this out loud and watch a person's shoulders come down. Mind Flow is how I spend my short turn well. I help someone meet their own mind, loosen the old grip, and walk out lighter than they came in. If it all ends anyway, I would rather spend my ending making a few thousand people less afraid of theirs. A life that leaves the shore a little kinder than it found it. That will do.
